Long Distance Trip

Master of Alchemy The 1st song is mellow, trippy, reminiscent of a 60's Grateful Dead jam. 2nd song is grating, harsh fuzz. 3rd starts with a trippy intro, then 4 mins in moves into a Black Sabbath-esque stunner with great vocals. 4th is a slow burner, good. 5th is a folk acoustic style, complete with thunder, rain, and breaking waves. Last song - the first half builds to all consuming psychadelic riffage and guitars, but the second half does lose its way. Overall, this LP has a lot to offer, you will like. Favorite track: For The Lost Souls.

forthelostsouls The first time I heard this album was the first time I heard SBE. The Doors/Pink Floyd style psych fused with the Black Sabbath blues hooks is about as addictive as rock music gets for me. Favorite track: For The Lost Souls.

Ben Leathley An album which takes you on a sonic trip through different genres and styles and very different moods. From heavy hitting riffs in songs 2 and 3 to a calming folk melody to wind down with in 5. Psychedelic/space/stoner rock to get lost in and enjoy.

"Hardly ever did an album have a better chosen title than this debut album by Berlin spacerockers Samsara Blues Experiment. In six songs we are led on a musical voyage through unknown parts of the universe - as if Syd Barrett, Jimi Hendrix and Dave Brock joined forces and started a travel agency. This CD, at 66 minutes quite a piece, has the same overall quality "Time flies when you’re having fun" is what the proverb says." (Lords of Metal)
